Self-drive, bus, or private transfer: how to reach Ping'an and Dazhai from Guilin.
Bottom line: A rental car or private driver is the easiest way to reach Longji. Buses are cheaper but require a walk or shuttle from the entrance to your hotel. The mountain road demands careful driving.
Take G65 north from Guilin, exit at Longsheng, then follow signs for Longji Terraced Fields (้พ่ๆขฏ็ฐ). The final 30 km climb steeply into the mountains.
Driving lets you stop in valleys and villages along the way and arrive early to beat tour-bus crowds. A compact SUV or larger is recommended for the steep, narrow final section.
